one more on sci-fi erotica that was EXTREMELY good (as in, well written and hot to read) but I can't look up the title right this second.
Erm, when you find that title.......pass it along?

I just finished A Clash of Kings, George RR Martin's third in the Song of Ice & Fire series. There was so much noise about the HBO series that I decided I really had to read the books; I watched the first season online and enjoyed it (which you can probably tell from the line under my screen name...)

Waiting for the next book in the series to free up at the library...someone's ahead of me on the "hold" list so it could be a while before I get it...

Telecom Goddess: How are you liking the Sookie Stackhouse books? I'm thinking of giving them a go.

Peppergirl: That sounds like an awesome reading list.

I'm reading web fiction right now. I'm reading a work called Three of Swords, done by a pair of sisters who not only write some really nice period fiction, but also illustrate. I'm doing a banner swap with them, so I'm reading their series. It's really good and I love their characters. Kind of a "Dickens" era fantasy.

Let's see...I'm a little ADD on the reading material right now:

I'm about halfway through Mayflower, which I borrowed from my friend back in June...

And I'm also reading Good without God...

And in the freebie room at work I came across Freedom for the Thought That We Hate: A Biography of the First Amendment so I'm reading that during lunch. (I also have a couple others on my desk that I'll get around to one of these days...maybe.)

And last week I picked up The Story of Charlotte's Web: E. B. White's Eccentric Life in Nature and the Birth of an American Classic at the library. It was on the new non-fiction shelf and it was pouring rain so I stayed for a while and read the first couple chapters. Guess I should finish that first since I have to actually return it.

And yesterday I was browsing in the bookstore and came across The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements, read the intro and half of the first chapter in the store and then decided to just buy it.

"Mind Hunter" Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker I have always been interested in law enforcement and wanted (and still want to) join the FBI.

The Writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson Mr. Mis came across it and knew I would love it and bought it for me. I do have an amazing husband.

Back when I was a teen, the author Cynthia Harrod-Eagles started a series of fictional books about the history of a family, the Morlands which was to spread from the War of the Roses to WW11; a 500ish year period which she originally said was going to be done in 12 volumes.

Two days ago I finished number 32 on the kindle, today "all" of the series are being released for kindle, so I've decided to go back & revisit the whole lot starting from the beginning again, well just as soon as they're released & the kindle downloads the first two
            Arp happens!

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Right now, I'm reading the last of a really good series called Fablehaven. After I finish this (shouldn't take me too long), I'm probably going to read Ghost Story, which I just bought the Kindle version of. :3 Either that or the next book in the Kane Chronicles series.

                Just finished Ghost Story (Dresden)
                reading 4 or 5 series:

the Hollows (Rachel Morgan) Series by Kim Harrison - waiting for Nov. when Pale Demon comes out in paper back

The Vampire Academy - read book one, just got 2 and 3

the Luxe Series by Anna Godbersen - just got book 4

Pretty Little Liars - got intrigued by the TV show - read the 1st 4 books, and think I'm gonna continue it

the Savannah Vampires by Raven Hart - have books 1-3 and 5 - missing book 4...

and I want to read the "Glory St. Clair" or "Real Vampires" series by Gerry Barlett - cute stories, set in my home town...

why yes I do read a lot of supernatural type books - and your point?

LOVE that book. He's written a couple since then too. I'll have to see if I can dig up the titles to them for you, if you'd like. I read them years ago, but I really enjoyed them!

Mooncat: It's "Best Erotic Fantasy & Science Fiction" edited by Cecelia Tan and Bethany Zaiatz. I only have the Kindle sample, but be warned, the first story they sample is extremely sad.

The other volume is "Best Fantastic Erotica" also edited by Cecelia Tan, whixh is as well written, or looks that way, from the Kindle sample.

                    You're welcome.

Peppergirl I would be forever in your debt if you could dig those up. John Douglas has his own web site that I have to search for again since I lost it when my hard drive decided to die on me.

I was a bit disappointed with how arrogant he came off as on camera when he was commenting on the DC Snipers before they were caught but I still admire him and his work.

I think book 7 of the Dresden Files. And then on to the Codex of Aliara series. Really need to try and ready Game of Thrones again.
