All I can say is Wow. It was possibly the craziest episode of Doctor Who I have ever seen. I loved, loved LOVED Rory punching Hitler in the face. Hilarious.
I didn't care for Mels very much. I know we only saw her very briefly, but I just didn't warm to her, however I never saw the twist with her character coming, even though, looking back on it, it was pretty obvious.
This season of Doctor Who has been very character driven. The Nazi Germany setting seemed to play very little part in the actual story. Although I love this season, I am pining for them to go off and just have a few adventures!

Same. Even going on through series 5, she kinda tottered between 'annoying' and 'unfortunately kinda badass'. Now I find her highly entertaining. Especially her random little one-liners.Quoth JoitheArtist View PostYou know what's funny? I HATED River Song in series 4. With a passion. Never wanted to see her on screen again. Now she's one of my all-time favorite characters, and I can't wait to find out more about her journey.

Loved. It!
Problems? Sure. but FUN. Especially the reveal of Mels. And oh my, the Doctor spinning around in a tuxedo...be still my heart!

The husband rewound the DVR a couple of times when he commented about being stuck in his wife's head. I can't help but feel it was a jab at me..goober.Quoth firecat88 View PostAhahahahahahahahaha! The new episode was freakin' awesome. Scary, unexpected, chock-full o' drama....and Rory punches Hitler. Which I could easily spend hours rewinding that part on the DVR and re-watching it over and over again.

Having seen the most recent episode I claim this is not quite accurate...SpoilersQuoth Jay 2K Winger View PostThose of you who follow my Twitter will have already seen this. If not, I share it with you now.
Doctor River Song.
It's not her title.
She took the Doctor's name when she married him.
(Fridge Brilliance?)

One thread that hasn't been fully woven in yet is exactly why River Song is in Stormcage.
I know what she said, and given what Amy said to Melody just before she was taken away I think it may not be who some people originally thought it would be

Quoth Jay 2K Winger View PostThe Wham Moment of the ending of the episode, followed by the screen saying "The Doctor will be back in LET'S KILL HITLER" just made me burst out laughing.
I loved that too!! Can't wait to see what actually happens...curse the short seasons

"A Good Man Goes To War" was an outright awesome episode (would have been more awesome if Captain Jack had been there, but alas), and Rory got to be badass again. Strax (the Sontaran) was hilarious, Madam Kozarian (Eyepatch Lady) is evil, and River got her moments in too.
The Wham Moment of the ending of the episode, followed by the screen saying "The Doctor will be back in LET'S KILL HITLER" just made me burst out laughing.
Because that title just screams "lazy Sunday" for some reason...
Doctor: "So! The whole of time and space await, where d'you wanna go next?"
Amy: "I don't know."
Rory: "We could go to Space Florida."
Amy: "Eh, I've been there. Automatic sand's nice'n all, but it's not as great as you'd think. We could pop by ancient Rome!"
Rory: "I've... had enough of Roman stuff, thanks."
Doctor: "Last time I went anywhere near Rome, it turned out to be Volcano Day."
Amy: "I'm sure Churchill'd like to see you again, try to steal the TARDIS from you again."
Doctor: "Ah! That's it, that's perfect, Pond, you're magnificent, I know exactly where we're going to and what we're going to do!"
Ponds: "What?"
Doctor: "Let's kill Hitler." (pulls lever, away they go)

I don't mean actually. I just mean in that Daddy waiting on the porch with the shotgun, "If you hurt my little girl" way

Dasota, I have a completely different theory about who the perpetrator is than you do, and I believe mine is supported by many hints that have been dropped throughout the show. I'll leave it at that.
(Actually, I have two theories, but one makes more sense to me than the other, though I can't figure out the underlying motivation in either one. But then, if it makes sense, it's almost certainly not going to be the direction the writers take.)

Tuned in near the end of the episode (just before the retreat was called) and at the end I was thinking "what did River tell The Doctor, a man who is never without the right word to say, to become so completely speechless?"
Then River drops the bombshell on Rory and Amy.

Yup, if anything would do it, that would be it.
