Anyone who follows my Twitter knows that I will periodically write a Haiku, often Who-related.
For the benefit of those who don't use Twitter... I bring you... my Dr. Who Haiku.
The Tardis
The blessed blue box
Can see disaster coming
Aah! The cloister bell!
Daleks
Daleks are coming
Alas, they cannot be stopped
E'en by BBC
Weeping Angels
Quantum locked statue
Wants to eat your sweet lifespan
Don't you f***ing blink
Stone angel statue
Will swallow your lifespan now
Oh bollocks, you blinked.
Are they quantum locked?
Or are they just tricking you?
Just blink and find out.
The Silence
Look out, behind you!
Evil proselytizers!
...What was I saying?
Sontarans
Greatest Warriors
Send Rutan Host running scared
Sontar Ha, b****es!
Marching through fire
Explaining why you are weak
Shouting "Sontar-HA!"
Haiku of Rassilon
The Lord President
Hoards all of his possessions
And puts his name on them.
The Lord President
Owner of a shiny glove
Plus he's James Bond too
Time Lord President
Controls all of Gallifrey
And has a cool glove.
Time Lord President:
The Most Important Time Lord
(Eff you, Omega.)

Very nice!Quoth dalesys View PostOf course it does.
(descendant of Charles & Mina Pond, builder/owners of Ponds Lodge in Island Park, ID.)
Jester, I guess I forgot that part of that episode. I'm not surprised...I'm not very focused to begin with and I'm usually watching the show with my husband and we're talking the whole time. I'll have to just collect all the episodes on Blu-Ray eventually and watch them over and over...it's a darn shame, innit

From "The Big Bang"Quoth Jester View PostThe Doctor simply calls them the Ponds, and Rory deals with it.
Amy: "You may absolutely kiss the bride."
Doctor: (stopping her) "Amy, from now on, I will be delegating all kissing duties to the new Mister Pond!"
Rory: "...no! No, see, that's not how it works--"
Doctor: "Yes it is."
Rory: (glances at Amy) "...yeah, it is."

No, his last name is still Williams, and he and Amy even argued about their baby's name in "When a Good Man Goes to War." Remember? Any said that Melody Williams is a school teacher, Melody Pond is a superhero. Or something like that.
The Doctor simply calls them the Ponds, and Rory deals with it.
By the way, speaking of noticing things, anyone else notice that, while The Doctor did, in fact, find Amy and Rory's child, he never did return her to them? They never got to raise their own baby, and the people who took her from them seem to have won, having brainwashed her and trained her to kill The Doctor.
And yes, I know, there is probably more to this story that we will see later in the season....but my thing is, why are Amy and Rory just suddenly so okay with that? After all, The Doctor did find their child, but did NOT find their baby.
Just a thought.

That sounds about right, but I guess they just decided Pond sounded better!

I am re-recording the episode tonight because my stupid DVR cut off the end on Saturday (and I wasn't home to watch it live). But I loved it. I've loved River Song since she became part of the Doctor Who universe, too...I think Alex Kingston is amazing. And I'm loving her lovey dovey stuff with The Doctor. Kinda funny how Amy and Rory, while definitely still part of the action, are kind of like "...huh???" about the whole thing...
By the way, didn't Rory ever have a last name of his own? I find it amusing that now he's pretty much Mr. Pond when that was always Amy's name...

One of my friends (the one who got me watching Doctor Who, in fact) pointed it out too!Quoth Jester View PostOne of my friends pointed out something amusing on Facebook.
Did anyone else notice that they left Hitler locked in the cupboard?
I was like 'Oh yeah...they did kinda leave him in there, didn't they?'

She was Professor River Song when he met her at The Library, which was canonically the LAST time she ever met him. Hence, LAST in her timeline.Quoth customersruinmylife View PostI'm not sure. Wasn't she Professor River Song when he first met her? And didn't she get excited when he revealed she was going to be one?
She was Doctor River Song the next time he met her, at the Wreck of the Byzantium, which was earlier in her timeline.

Doctor River Song. Not JUST a title. She took the Doctor's name when she married him.

All right. So I've watched "Let's Kill Hitler." Fun little episode, and I'll admit, when Mels first showed up plowing through the field in the sports car, I thought it was River. (Little did I know I was right! In a way.)
More spoiler-y thoughts: So, with Melody/River using up her remaining regenerations to save the Doctor, does this give him more than the canonical 13 regenerations allowed to Time Lords?
I'll amend my previous bit of "Fridge Brilliance?" to this:
Doctor River Song. Not JUST a title. She took the Doctor's name when she married him.
