    I kind of agree with that.....although in my experience, I've had to put things in my ad such as "I don't use Yahoo messenger, so please don't ask to chat there", and "I'm NOT looking for 'intimate encounters' ".

      "Hi, I'm Plaidman, and I'm looking for a long term relationship" Or if you want to start slower, "looking for a romance partner with a view to possible short or long term relationships".
      Or whatever, something along those lines.

      "I'm a geeky, intellectual type, on the shy side but I open up as I get to know a person. I'm interested in (blah, blah and blah), and enjoy (blah, blah and blah)."
