BIG UPDATE!

Surgery was successful! However due to the swelling he will need to be open 48-72 hours, hopefully they can close him on Saturday. Besides that everything went good, the room that they're keeping him in better be clean and sterile. Still staying positive.




More to add: he is staying in a clean sterile room nurses are looking after him, doctors and nurses are the only ones allowed in at this point. Mom said she would call back later on to check in after she and dad talk to the doctors.

The swelling has gone down a signifigant amount so they think they'll be able to close him up tonight.

They're closing him up today sometime between 12 and 2, after he's done healing from being closed up the physical therapy begins.



More to add: they just took him to get closed up at 1:15.

They're going to wait until this afternoon to take him off sedation and wake him up little by little like before, then they're going to work on recovery and physical therapy. Mom said they're gonna be down there at least another 2 weeks, she and dad are gonna help Michael get settled back into his and Jakes place when he gets out of the hospital.

With all the progress he's making he might be out of the hospital in 2 weeks.

The doctors said that he can wear loose fitting sweatpants and a t-shirt, so my parents went to target and got him some pj pants and 2 t-shirts. He wants to just get up and walk around as much as he can but he has to take it easy.

WHOOOOOOO!

Big news, my brother is getting out of the hospital in a couple of days! My parents are going to stay down there for like 3 or 4 days to help him get settled back in at his and Jakes place then they're coming back home.

It's official as of yesterday afternoon my brother is out of the hospital and is doing home care, I don't know how long they need to do that but at least he's out of the hospital.

Me too, he said that they're gonna do home care for anywhere from 4-6 weeks until they feel it's ok to take him off it. He still has the pick line in and they gave him a big box of dressings and pills and he has to get a shot right into his line twice a day, mom is the one doing it since dad is afraid he'll fuck it up but when the nurse is there they'll do it. There's nurses that come 2 times a week are going to ask him questions and check him over and see if he he needs any more supplies, he's in very good hands.

I forgot to update this before on Thursday, he got his chest tube out and his stitches out too. And yesterday they took him off one medication and decreased another but they have to give him a lot of iron, still taking small steps on the road to recovery but doing great.
