I have a bit of a cold, so I'm not doing anything for a couple of days. It will likely mean crap food too as ... you know ... comfort food.

Just did about 30 minutes of cardio. Followed by some yoga stretching for relaxation.
I have a heart rate monitor now!!! Now I know how many calories I'm burning. The workout I did tonight burned 310 calories. Add that to the pedometer that I wear, and I burned a total of 444 calories today. Not too shabby, I don't think, considering my back is still hurting me. I wish I knew how to fix that little problem.
Anyhoo. Off to hit the shower, then get dinner and get to work on a paper.
One-Fang!!! Feel better, hun!!

Missed a week of workouts due to what I at first thought was a cold and now am pretty sure is allergies. Took it a little easier last night for the cardio but did well on the elliptical tonight.
I ended up 3rd in the Biggest Loser competition at work - 6.5% lost over a 9 week period. Dropped off on the effort/better eating the past few weeks but I want to lose at least 9 more pounds by my birthday (2 months away) if not more. Motivation!

Well done kiwi! Now you have a measurement against which to compare the next result!
I have mine in one week, so this cold better get going so I can go out and train! Going to have a go at ice skating tomorrow. Has been yeeeeeeaaaaars. That may very well be enough exercise for tomorrow. Then hopefully there's enough healthy energy in the system to do the 11k trail run near home on Sunday.

weighed in again this morning. Final tally:
6.6 lbs total lost
0.5 inches off my hips.
Everything else has stayed the same
but I've passed the 5 lb mark! I'm coming up on the one month "anniversary" if you will, of the start of this whole healthy lifestyle change that I've started. I'm pleased and proud that I've stuck with it this long, rather than falling back into my old habits of thinking that I'm eating healthy because I grabbed the small fries with my fried chicken sandwich, and only the medium milkshake with my meal instead of the large.
<Sigh> Hasn't been easy. I'm seriously wanting some fast food, but I know that I can indulge without going crazy. It just takes planning and practice in knowing what to choose.
either way, I'm happy that I've done so well in such a short amount of time! Yay me!
That is all...

Well done Lupo! I like the approach to being healthy - knowing that you can sensibly have some of those foods that you desire, rather than attempting to cut them out entirely. Six pounds in a month is great!
Off for a walk and a run today. Still a bit fluey, so I'm not sure how the run will go, but I have my 10k in a week, and this is the last opportunity to get a decent length training run in.

One hour thirty, six times, 904 calories, max heart rate of 159. I think the lower calorie burn was something to do with the lower heart rate - I usually have a heart rate of about 110 or maybe just under when I hit the bottom of the hill, but today it was below 100. I also noticed that my resting heart rate is now below sixty. I suspect warmer weather is something to do with it.

Such a nice morning today. Rather than break out the workout DVDs, I went for a walk outside instead. 30 minutes, 189 calories burned. Worked up a good sweat.
Bonus! While on my walk, I passed a bike path I didn't know existed! The closest one I knew of passed way too many streets, but this one is nicely tucked away. If the weather is equally as nice tomorrow, I might just got for 30 minute ride instead of a 30 minute walk!
Shower then breakfast then work now. Yay...

Exactly. Don't deprive yourself entirely or when all hell breaks loose, it breaks loose! Just make better choices when you do have what you want - thin crust pizza instead of pan pizza, less ice cream, etc.Quoth One-Fang View PostWell done Lupo! And for me, my loss of motivation/giving into temptation started at about 7 weeks. Just be aware that it may happen to you and be ready to adapt and take it head on if it does.
I'm so proud of everyone here!

LOL Lupo. I'm at ... let me count ... about 116 weeks now.
Went for that run yesterday. Managed 5.5k, which was a challenge. I'm chalking it up to illness and not getting out much before that. But I've really got to step it up before the 21k at the end of May! Yikes!
