Evil Queen, I also always spell out my last name after saying it. It's Italian and could be spelled many different ways.

I do the same - and I have a *very* Anglo-British last name. In fact, I share a name with a very famous (and weird) movie director from Baltimore.

It's amazing how many variants I've seen on a pretty simple name.
