Yes and yes. @_@ I hated both of them. However, IMO, the second one was slightly more terrifying than the first for some reason."Things that fail to kill me make me level up." ~ NateWantsToBattle, Training Hard (Counting Stars parody)

the angels in blink were frozen because they looked directly at each other frozen. here I didn't catch two angels directly looking at each other. It's funny when you think about the fact the angels kind of have to leap frog each other.
I think this episode should have been longer, the resolution was way too fast, the beginning was great, and the statue of liberty being an angel was neat but we never had time to deal with the emotions of what that meant.Interviewer: What is your greatest weakness?
Me: I expect competence from my coworkers.

Just watched Angels Take Manhattan. Bawled my eyes out! The Ponds were two of the best companions ever. The foursome of them, The Doctor and River Song were brilliant together. I'm going to miss them.
I think I may have a crush on Arthur Darvill now

I don't need to think...I KNOW that I have a crush oh Karen Gillan.
I just don't understand why they had to write the Ponds out so PERMANENTLY. Rose Tyler went to an alternate dimension, and SHE still came back! And Sarah Jane Smith kept coming back. Seriously, why did the Ponds have to be so brutally removed? They were already thinking of stopping their traveling with The Doctor. What the hell?
Pissed about this one, if you haven't noticed.

The reason the Doctor can't see the Ponds again:
Predetermination. The moment (spoilers)they saw the gravestone, it established the fact. If the Doctor goes to see them, he can rescue them, which creates such an enormous paradox that it destroys the universe.
Jester: He was able to see Rose again because the universes were disintegrating due to the actions of the Daleks. Sarah Jane Smith was never trapped by the machinations of time, but rather just dropped off in Aberdeen. He hadn't seen her before due to his own stubbourn stupidity, not because he COULDN'T. The Ponds vanishing is a different situation.
Besides... you know if we saw them again, it'd take some serious writing for the Doctor to leave them. He's thoroughly emotionally dependent on at least Amy.
This episode cemented my love of River, though. And my love of Rory. I just adore them as characters, and Alex Kingston's ability to show heartbreak without saying a single word is just masterful.

Well I've really liked several of the Companions, but the Ponds are easily my favorites. Doesn't hurt that Amy has red hair (I am partial to red hair). I have to agree with Jester, the way they were written out left a very sour taste in my mouth. However, as Companion endings go..there are far worse fates then happily ever after <-highlight for semi spoiler.
I think the doctor and Captain Jack Harkness need to travel together (since there is apparently NOT going to be any more torchwood). The one person in the universe that the doctor doesn't have to worry about getting old OR dying. I think they realize they made a mistake with Captain Jack though. He's superman without the kryptonite. You KNOW he is not going to die, regardless of what happens..and that can be a bit...boring.Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. You don't KNOW he's not going to die. You just know that in the past, nothing has killed him.
And yes, I'd love to see Barrowman and Smith together in the Tardis. I've heard in a few different places that Barrowman has been spotted near the Cardiff sets, though he's said they haven't called him for the 50th yet (no comment on whether he's filming for the current season, though). Moffatt has a habit of avoiding certain things until he feels he can do them justice (i.e. Daleks), so any Cap'n Jack return is likely to be rather epic.
Besides which, it's a bit too easy to turn the character into either an easy fix or a parody of himself. It's very difficult to write him well. The abundance of bad Torchwood fanfic puts the truth to that. And he's *very* much a Davies character. That makes it even more difficulty, because Moffat characterizations vs Davies characterizations are vastly different.Last edited by KiaKat; 10-01-2012, 05:18 PM.

I promised myself I wouldn't cry when we bid Eleventh's companions a Pond farewell (okay, that was terrible), and I didn't.
I was misting up pretty bad, though.
I have to say, the Grand Moff manages to make the Angels scarier with every appearance. "Blink" was bad enough, but you knew what the Angels looked like, and could avoid them, if possible.
Then "Time of Angels" came along, and we found they could be cold-blooded, neck-snapping killers who fed off ANY energy, not just "potential energy."
Then "The Angels Take Manhattan." And now we know they (spoiler'd)can possess any statue they want, up to and including the goddamn Statue of Liberty, so we're even less safe!

Well I may be mistaken, may have misheard..but I believe we know that Captain Jack does die...40 .. or so thousand years into the future. In one episode as he is running off, he refers to the fact that some people have been calling him the Face of Bohs (spelling? Have no clue how to spell that at all, not even a little). Which we know is around in NEW NEW Earth. And if we go by what was said when they wrote out the ponds since the Doctor has seen him in that time..he is a fixed point in time now .. and MUST be there? If I am getting everything right that is.Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun. There's a one-off line when Captain Jack is bidding farewell to the Doctor and Martha, and comments that he was known as The Face of Boe. Which is the same title given to the Large Head In A Jar that dies in the year 6billion. But there's also the prophecy that the Doctor and the Face will meet three times... and they meet more than that, if it's really the good Captain.
Also... even though he gave up all his life energy (supposedly) to power New(x15) York, he did something similar with Abbadon, and ended up coming back after four days. So maybe it just took him longer to come back, that last time.

*nods* Yeah there are some holes there. If he really is the same Face that is. Though there being two of them would be a bit strange. I guess the prophecy could only start after he becomes a head in a jar...*laughs*..and that is another strike against the captain being the same Face. How does he become a giant head in a jar? Head in a jar..ok..I can understand..but a giant one? Time paradoxes..got to love them.Engaged to the amazing Marmalady. She is my Silver Dragon, shining as bright as the sun.
