I pulled weeds for two hours.
Hmm in that case I declare 2 hours mucking out a teenage boys bedroom! Housework is exercise

    *shudder* the socks I found.....

      • I did a brisk walk the other day (was pissed) but it helped.

800 calories, Raps? Wow. I think it would take me working out for an hour or so to get that.

How many people 'cheat' and do quicky workouts at the grocery store? I do! I do curls with jars of peanut butter, I do basket lifts and use my biceps/triceps, I also stretch sometimes when I'm stuck in line.

        • These grrrrrr allergies have kept me from doing any work outs, and I feel like a blob I miss my hiking endorphins.

I *did* do an hour og Wii Step and lifted weights during it, without being winded, so allergies are indeed clearing up and I haven't lost any strength.

I'm trying to plan 2 "major" hikes before NH....a ten-mile trek in a nearby park and another summit of Mt Everett.

At the slimming group I attend, all that would be counted as exercise.. anything from gym & swim down to ironing, cleaning windows & leg lifts & torso twists sat in a chair watching TV

Not allergies (yet) for me, but I managed to really ruck my knee up by pushing myself too hard swimming.. then last week developed a nice case of labrynthitis so not been out of the house in about a week apart from my trip to the docs on Friday!

I'm barely dizzy now so definitely going to slimming group tomorrow then can't decide on a gentle swim or taking a book to gym & just parking my bum on one of the recliner bikes for half an hour or so

            But I AM doing something!!

Meh.. the something turned out to be lugging heavy bags around town for an hour or so, didn't realise I needed so much stuff!

Tomorrows exercise will be gardening...I'm having a load of landscaping bark delivered

On the plus side though, today's weigh in saw four pounds off!
Its a bank holiday weekend this weekend though & I'm having visitors & BBQs & beer etc.. I can see it all going back on next week

              • Fate hates me, the b*&%$.

Allergies kept me from working out, as I mentioned. Yesterday, I'm feeling GREAT so I decide to hit the gym....nope, car radio catches fire (sorta). SO I just go for a quick calm-down walk.

Gained a little weight....its either muscle or water-weight, as I don't look too different (if its muscle I am happy, water I am annoyed at nature)

Will yet again try for the gym....hope I make it!

                    • Got quiet in here. My knees were awkward last week and I had a load of manual work, so I decided to avoid straining them.

                      Today? 35 minutes, 608 calories.

                      • Good plan!

I've not been overactive the last couple of weeks with spinning heads, knackered knee & the latest, dodgy elbow & having visitors etc but I started back with a vengeance today!
Taking the swimming easier though, I need to get my knee fixed, there are talks of hill walking & hiking coming up in the nicer weather

                        • Haven't been as active as I should have been, and gained some weight back.....but I can easily lose it again as long as I am good.

                          • So far, I'm down 13 lbs from when I started Sparkpeople. Woot!

I got a new toy for when I'm working on the ellipical. We have an iPad at work. I've been stealing it (with permission, of course) at night, so I can read the CS forums while going to town on the ellipical. It really helps get past my 8 minute attention span.

                            • That's a good idea, I keep meaning to take a book with me for the recliner bike.. I'm forever clock watching on that

The ellipticals at the gym I go to have freeview tv piped though them with subtitles turned on, so I can either giggle at the live news subtitles & the mess they make of them sometimes or could whip the headphones out of the mp3 player and listen to tv as well as watch.
Just wish it was on the treadmill too!

                              • w00 another pound off this week, and I will be well fed as I won a bag full of fruit & veg in the slimming class raffle
Absolutely shattered after gym & win though so I'm going to have a few jelly beans while I chill out watching csi for a bit.
I actually watched 20 mins of CSI on the elliptical this morning.. wanted to see to the end, but 20 mins was all I could manage!
